Glue-laminated and nail-laminated columns for post-frame construction
At Richland, we proudly manufacture premium glue-laminated and nail-laminated columns—commonly known as Glulam and Nail-Lam. Richland Glulam columns are meticulously crafted to virtually eliminate cracking, splitting, and checking.
Columns are 3-ply and 4-ply, 2" x 6" and 2" x 8". Larger sizes are also available.
Glulam and Nail-Lam columns are finger-joined for strength. Glulam columns are stronger, lighter, and straighter than nail-laminated columns.
Richland columns feature #1 Southern Yellow Pine, 30% stronger than 6" x 6" solid posts. Available with treated and untreated lumber.
More than just a pretty face, Richland columns are planed on all four sides to ensure straighter, stronger post-frame construction.
Ground contact ends are treated with chromated copper arsenate (CCA)
CCA penetration is deeper in laminated columns than with solid posts
Untreated wood above ground reduces the need for galvanized fasteners
